Skin-nourishing simple alkaline waters,
100% free-flowing from the source

Onsen

A 400-year-old hot spring source preserved by our "Yuban",
offering supreme tranquility imbued with the romance of the Taisho era.

Since its discovery in 1614 (Keichō 19), the hot springs of Tonosawa in Hakone have continued to heal the minds and bodies of countless spa guests and historical figures for nearly 400 years.

The Art of the "Yuban"

Our "Yuban" (hot spring masters) meticulously adjust the flow from our three private springs to match each day’s weather and temperature, ensuring every bath is lavishly filled with 100% free-flowing spring water directly from the source.
With a pH of 8.9, this simple alkaline hot spring feels gentle and velvety on your skin, delicately exfoliating dead skin cells to leave you remarkably smooth, supple, and deeply moisturized—a truly transformative, beautifying bath experience.

Taisho-style Bathhouse

Featuring beautiful mosaic tiles imported during the Taisho era adorning the bathtubs and floors, this retro-modern space evokes the romance of the Taisho era. The walls are adorned with rugged natural stone, and light streaming through Taisho-era stained-glass windows gently makes the water shimmer. The men’s bath features a waterfall shower and a fan-shaped tub, while the women’s bath boasts a modern art-inspired design centered around white. Please enjoy the ultimate bathing experience.

Mountain Stream Open-Air Onsen (Suiun-no-Yu, Seikan-no-Yu)
